Size Guide
Leather does not forgive a wrong size the way wool does, so it is worth five minutes before ordering. Here is how to measure, how to read the chart, and what to do when you fall between sizes.
The rules that matter
- The shoulder seam must end where your shoulder ends — nothing else can fix that later.
- Two fingers should slide under the zipped chest over a t-shirt.
- Sleeves finish at the wristbone.
- Size up if you will wear it over a hoodie or heavy knit.
How to measure
Use a soft tape, stand relaxed, wear a t-shirt, and measure the body rather than a jacket you already own.
- Chest: around the fullest part, under the arms, tape level, breathing normally.
- Waist: around the natural waist, roughly at the navel, not pulled in.
- Shoulders: across the back, tip of one shoulder bone to the other.
- Sleeve: from the shoulder bone, down a slightly bent arm, to the wristbone.
Men’s size chart
Women’s size chart
These are garment measurements, taken flat and doubled, not body measurements. That matters — a 40in chest jacket is built for a body several inches smaller.
Between sizes?
Size up if the jacket will go over a hoodie or knit, if the shoulders feel tight in the smaller size, or if you cannot cross your arms comfortably. Size down if only the waist is close — leather gives there over a season. If the shoulder seam hangs past your shoulder in the larger size, the decision is already made.
Does leather stretch?
Full-grain softens and gives a little across the chest and elbows with regular wear — roughly half a size over a season. It does not stretch across the shoulders, and it never shrinks back. Never buy tight hoping it will loosen.

Questions, answered
Should I order my usual size?
Over a t-shirt, yes. Over a hoodie or heavy knit, go one size up. Let the shoulders decide rather than the chest.
How do I know if the shoulders are wrong?
The seam should sit on the shoulder bone. If it hangs down your arm it is too big; if it digs in above the bone it is too small. No tailor can fix either.
Can a leather jacket be altered?
Sleeves and waist, yes, within limits. Shoulders, effectively no. Leather also holds needle holes permanently, so alterations are a one-shot job.

Are the measurements body or garment?
Garment — measured flat across the jacket itself. Compare them against a jacket you already own and like for the most reliable result.
