Description
A black jacket with nothing above the shoulder seam: no collar, no lapel, no band. The neckline is cut round and bound flat, the zip runs straight up the centre, and long curved panel seams shape the body. Cropped at the hip, plain cuffs, no outside pockets.
The neckline
Finishing a leather neckline without a collar is the hardest part of this jacket to make. The raw edge has to be bound or turned and stitched so it lies absolutely flat — any wobble shows immediately, because there is nothing above it to distract from the line. Done properly, as here, it frames the collarbone and leaves the neck completely open.
The leather
Full-grain hide in a soft black. A collarless jacket depends on suppleness: a stiff leather would stand away from the chest at the neckline, and the whole appeal of this shape is that it lies against you.
How it is cut
Close. Minimal cuts show everything, so the fit has to be right — the shoulder seam at your shoulder, the sleeve at the wrist bone, the hem at the hip. There is nothing on this jacket to hide a size that is slightly wrong.
What to wear it with
A simple tee, a silk top, a fine knit. Slim trousers or a skirt. The open neckline means it works over something with a neckline of its own — a scoop, a V, a polo neck — where a lapelled jacket would crowd it.
Looking after it
Condition twice a year, paying attention to the bound neckline edge, which flexes every time the jacket goes on. Wide hanger; a soft black leather with no collar dents at the shoulder on a thin one.

Size chart
Measure your bust around the fullest part with the tape level. Jacket chest is the finished garment measurement and runs larger than your body, because the jacket has to close over you. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Questions about collarless jackets
How is a leather neckline finished without a collar?
Either bound with a narrow strip of leather, or turned under and topstitched flat. Both are fiddly in hide, because leather does not ease round a curve the way cloth does. A neckline that ripples, gapes or stands away is the giveaway on a cheaply made collarless jacket.
Does a collarless jacket work with a necklace?
It is one of the few jackets that does. With no collar or lapel, a chain or a pendant sits against the skin and stays visible instead of disappearing behind leather. The open round neckline is effectively a frame for whatever is at your throat.
Is a collarless jacket cold at the neck?
In wind, yes — a collar is doing real work on any other jacket, and this one has none. It is an autumn and spring piece rather than a winter one, and a scarf closes the gap completely, which is why collarless and scarves go together so naturally.
Is a collarless jacket better under a coat?
Much better. A collar or lapel under an overcoat bunches at the neck and pushes the coat’s own collar out of shape; a flat neckline lies under one without any of that. If you layer a jacket under a coat in winter, collarless is the practical choice.
Why do minimal jackets often have no outside pockets?
Because a pocket is a line, and this cut is about having as few lines as possible. A welt or zip across the front would cut the panel in half visually and the whole effect depends on the panels running uninterrupted from shoulder to hem. The trade is real — there is nowhere to put your hands.
Will a collarless jacket date?
Less than most. Because it has no hardware, no lapel width to go in or out of fashion and no visible details at all, there is very little on it that can look of a particular year. It is the shape to buy if you want a leather jacket that is still wearable in a decade.

This jacket has a clean look, and the collarless neckline is a nice touch. It is the detail I would point out first. The listing explains the style clearly.
