Description
A true red biker jacket: wide lapels with a snap at each tip, an off-centre zip, diamond-quilted panels across the shoulders, a snap flap pocket and zip pockets at the hip, zip cuffs, and a leather belt buckled across the back of the waist.
The colour
A clear, saturated red rather than a burgundy or a rust — the shade that makes the jacket the single thing people notice. It is dyed through, so a scuff shows red underneath rather than a pale line, which matters more on a strong colour than on black.
The back belt
Rather than a full belt around the waist, this one runs only across the back and buckles there. It pulls the back hem in without adding a buckle to the front, which keeps the line clean when the jacket is worn open — and it is adjustable, so the shape through the waist is yours to set.
The leather
Full-grain hide, soft and light. The diamond quilting on the shoulders adds a second layer of leather at the point the jacket creases most, and catches light differently from the flat panels — on red, that contrast is strong.
How it is cut
Close and cropped, finishing at the waist. Sized over a t-shirt or a thin knit; the quilted shoulders have no give. Shoulder seam at the shoulder decides the size, as always.
What to wear it with
Everything else plain, and preferably neutral. Black, white, grey, cream, denim in any wash. A red jacket does not need help, and it does not share an outfit with another strong colour.
Looking after it
Condition twice a year with a colourless product — never a tinted one on a strong colour. Keep it out of direct sun, which flattens red faster than any other shade. Wipe the buckle rather than letting conditioner sit around it.
Shipping, duties and returns
Free worldwide shipping, 4–9 working days. Import duties are settled before dispatch where the carrier supports Delivered Duty Paid to the destination country; where it does not, duty is charged locally and we will tell you which applies before you order. Thirty days to return anything unworn with tags attached. Questions to info@cordwainleather.com or +34 614 79 27 86.
Size chart
Measure your bust around the fullest part with the tape level. Jacket chest is the finished garment measurement and runs larger than your body, because the jacket has to close over you. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Questions about red and coloured leather
Who can wear a red leather jacket?
Anyone willing to let it be the loudest thing they are wearing. The question is not whether red suits you — against neutral clothing almost any red works — but whether you want a jacket that is remembered. If you would rather not be recognised by your coat, buy black.
What colours go with a red leather jacket?
Black, white, grey, cream and denim. That is the full list worth using. Navy works at a push. What does not work is another saturated colour anywhere in the outfit, because two strong colours in leather and cloth never read as deliberate.
Will red leather rub off onto clothes?
A well-finished dyed leather should not, and this one is dyed through and sealed. Where colour transfer does happen it is almost always a cheap surface dye on a coated hide, and it shows up first on a white shirt cuff or a pale bag strap. If you are worried, rub an inconspicuous spot with a damp white cloth before the first wear.
What shade of red works best on a leather jacket?
A clear primary red, like this one, or a deep oxblood — the two ends. The shades to be careful with are the ones in between: a bright orange-red dates quickly, and a pinkish red reads synthetic even when it is not. Leather holds a true red better than almost any other material.
Is a coloured leather jacket a bad buy?
Not a bad one, but a second one. A coloured jacket gets worn less often than a black or brown, so it ages slower and stays looking new longer — which some people like. If this is the only leather jacket you will own, a neutral will get ten times the wear. If it is your third, red is the one that earns its place.
Why does this jacket have both a flap pocket and zip pockets?
Different jobs. The flap pocket with a snap is quick to reach into and sits flat; the zips hold things securely and do not gape when you sit down. On the original riding jackets both existed for exactly that reason, and the combination survived because it is genuinely more useful than either on its own.
