Description
One folder, three finishes
Every version of this luxury padfolio is the same construction — full-grain cowhide, 10 × 13 in closed, snap tab, five interior compartments. What changes between them is behaviour, not price or build. Black stays as it is. Brown deepens where your hands rest. Mocha crunch resists visible change entirely. Pick the one that matches what you want the folder to look like in two years.
What is inside
- Snap-flap document pocket — full width, for the papers you are handing over
- Angled slip pocket — reachable without opening the folder
- Zip pocket — brass-tone pull, for anything that must not fall out
- Four business card slots — produced in one motion, no pocket-patting
- Two pen holders — on the centre fold, so neither presses into a panel
- A4 notepad sleeve — also takes a clipboard or a US letter pad
How it is built
Edges are folded over and stitched, not cut flush and painted. Painted edges are faster to make and they flake, and a pale edge against a finished face is the most visible form of wear there is. The spine is built to flex flat without the cover delaminating, which is the joint that fails first on a glued folder. Hardware is brass-tone throughout: zip pull and snap stud.
What does leather portfolio luxury actually buy you?
Hide that was never sanded and recoated. A premium leather portfolio and a designer leather portfolio are the same unregulated words, and both appear on bonded-leather folders at a fifth of this price. The difference you can check is the grade: full-grain is the outermost layer with the grain intact, and it is the part that costs money.
Choosing between the three
| Finish | At two years | Choose it if |
|---|---|---|
| Black | Slightly duller; shows dust | Your rooms are formal, or it is for interviews |
| Brown | Visibly darker where handled | You want it to improve, not just survive |
| Mocha brown crunch | Close to new | It gets carried daily and you want it to stay sharp |
A designer padfolio that cannot tell you how it will age is one you should assume will not.

Questions
Will a US letter pad fit?
Yes. The sleeve is cut to A4 at 8.27 × 11.69 in, which is the taller standard, so a US letter pad at 8.5 × 11 in drops in with room at the top. Sizing it the other way round would not work.
Does a pad come with it?
No. Pads are consumable and sold everywhere, and the sleeve takes any standard one. Buying it empty means you are not paying a leather markup on paper.
Will it hold a laptop?
No. The sleeve is sized for a notepad or clipboard, not a device. For a 13 to 15 inch laptop, see the laptop bags.
I write with my left hand — does the layout work?
The pad sits on the right, which means a left-handed writer works across the raised spine. Message us before ordering rather than assuming; it is the most common reason one of these comes back.
Can I have initials on it?
Blind embossing on request, on the black and brown finishes. The milled mocha surface is too irregular to take a clean impression. Personalised items fall outside the returns window.
Which is the safest gift?
Black, unless you know their shoes are brown. It is the version nobody forms an opinion about.
Will I pay customs on delivery?
Where our carrier supports Delivered Duty Paid to your country, duties are settled before dispatch and nothing is owed to the courier. Terms for your country are confirmed at checkout.

I was looking at the design details, and the overall design caught my eye. It works well on this piece. It has a more understated appearance than some similar designs.
