Description
A deep maroon jacket with a waxed, worn-back finish: darker in the body panels, lighter along the seams, shoulders and cuffs. Band collar with a snap, straight centre zip, two zip chest pockets, two at the hip, diamond-quilted panels across the shoulders and adjuster tabs at the sides of the waist.
The colour
This is a dark red — burgundy or oxblood rather than a bright cherry. In strong light it reads clearly red; in dim light it comes closer to a deep brown. That range is the reason dark reds are easier to wear than bright ones: the jacket is a colour when you want it to be and a neutral when you do not.
The finish
Waxed and rubbed back at the raised points, so the colour varies across every panel. The lighter edges are worn into the hide rather than printed over it, which means the contrast continues to develop with wear instead of fading out.
The leather
Full-grain hide with the grain surface intact. A distressed finish only holds up on full grain — a corrected, coated hide sprayed to look the same goes patchy at the creases within a couple of seasons.
How it is cut
Close through the chest with the hem at the belt and tabs to pull the waist in at each side. Sized over a t-shirt or a thin knit; the quilted shoulder panels have no give, so size up for a jumper.
What to wear it with
Grey, charcoal, cream, white and indigo denim. Black works if it is matte. Avoid brown trousers or brown boots in a similar depth — a dark red next to a mid brown reads as an attempted match that missed.
Looking after it
Condition twice a year with a colourless product and go lightly on the burnished edges, which is where the contrast lives. Keep it out of long direct sun; a dark red flattens towards brown under UV.

Measure your chest around the fullest part with the tape level. Jacket chest is the finished garment measurement and runs larger than your body, because the jacket has to close over you. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Questions about dark red leather
Is maroon the same as burgundy or oxblood?
They overlap and the trade uses them loosely. Maroon is a brownish dark red, burgundy leans towards purple like the wine, and oxblood is the darkest of the three with a brown cast. This jacket sits between maroon and oxblood, and will be described as any of them depending on who is selling it — which is why it is worth looking at the photographs rather than the word.
Is a dark red leather jacket easier to wear than a bright one?
Considerably. A bright red is always the loudest thing in an outfit; a dark red behaves like a neutral in low light and a colour in daylight, so it goes with far more and draws attention only when you want it to. If a coloured leather jacket appeals but a bright one feels like too much, this is the answer.
Does a distressed finish mean the jacket is damaged?
No — it means the surface has been worn back deliberately so the jacket looks used from the first day. The variation you can see is intentional and uneven by design, so no two are identical. What would be damage is cracking, flaking, or a finish lifting away from the hide; distressing is none of those.
Will a maroon jacket look brown indoors?
Often, yes. Dark reds lose their red cast in warm indoor light and under photographs taken without daylight, which is why the same jacket can look burgundy in one image and chocolate in another. Judge the colour from a daylight photograph, and expect it to read darker and browner in the evening.
Can men wear coloured leather jackets?
The dark end of the range, easily — maroon, deep green, navy all work like a neutral with a tint. Bright colours are harder, not because of any rule but because a leather jacket is already a strong garment and a strong colour doubles that. Starting with a dark red is the low-risk way in.
Does a leather jacket need to match your shoes and belt?
No. The matching rule applies to a belt and dress shoes, not to outerwear — a jacket is a different weight and finish of leather and nobody expects it to tie in. What does look wrong is a near-match: a jacket and boots in slightly different browns. Either clearly different, or deliberately the same.

I like how the quilted detailing works with the rest of this jacket. The proportions in the design are appealing. The product title and details made the design easy to understand.
Isabella Hayes –
The quilted detailing is what drew my attention to this jacket. It gives the design a distinct look without feeling overdone. It has a more understated appearance than some similar designs.
Benjamin Clark –
This jacket has a clean look, and the quilted detailing is a nice touch. It is the detail I would point out first. I appreciate the focus on the smaller design details.
Emily Carter –
The quilted detailing gives this jacket its character. The product design feels considered rather than overly busy. The overall look is easy to picture with everyday outfits.
Chloe Russell –
For me, the strongest part of this jacket design is the quilted detailing. It is simple but distinctive.
