Description
The denim trucker shape built in leather: a pointed shirt collar, a button front on brass snaps, two flap chest pockets with buttoned tabs, welt hand pockets below, and adjuster tabs buttoning at each side of the back hem. Rust-tan leather with a worn, cloudy finish that varies right across every panel.
Why a trucker in leather works
The pattern was drafted for denim — a short boxy body, a yoke across the chest and back, vertical seams either side of the button placket. Cut in leather it keeps all of that shape but gains wind resistance and weight, which turns a spring jacket into a three-season one. It is the most casual leather shape there is, and the most familiar.
The finish
Rust tan, pulled unevenly so the colour shifts light to dark across the back and sleeves. That cloudiness is in the hide, not printed over it, and it will keep developing at the elbows, cuffs and pocket edges.
The leather
Full-grain hide with the grain surface intact. On a light, variegated finish this is immediately visible — the grain and the colour movement are the same thing, and neither survives on a corrected, coated hide.
How it is cut
Short and square, hem at the waist, with the back tabs letting you take in a little through the hips. Sized over a t-shirt or a fine knit. A trucker is meant to sit close to the body — a loose one loses the shape entirely.
What to wear it with
Everything a denim jacket goes with, minus blue jeans in a matching tone. Dark denim, chinos, cord trousers; white, grey or olive on top; boots or trainers. Over a hoodie it reads casual; over a shirt it sharpens up considerably.
Looking after it
Condition twice a year with a colourless product, going lightly over the lighter cloudy areas. The snaps need nothing; keep conditioner off them. Wide hanger, out of direct sun — a light tan loses its warmth under UV.

Measure your chest around the fullest part with the tape level. Jacket chest is the finished garment measurement and runs larger than your body, because the jacket has to close over you. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Questions about trucker jackets
What is a trucker jacket?
The short, boxy button-front jacket that started as Levi’s Type III denim jacket in 1962 — pointed collar, two flapped chest pockets, vertical seams down the front and tabs at the back hem. “Trucker” is the nickname rather than the original name, and it now describes the pattern regardless of material.
What is the difference between a trucker jacket and a denim jacket?
A trucker is a specific denim-jacket pattern — the Type III — so every trucker is a denim-jacket shape, but older denim jackets with pleats, a single pocket or no front seams are not truckers. In leather, as here, the word just tells you which pattern was used.
Why do trucker jackets button instead of zip?
Because the original was a work jacket and buttons were cheaper, easier to replace in the field and did not jam with dust. The side effect is that the front sits flat and square rather than being pulled into a line by a zip, which is a large part of why the shape looks the way it does.
Should a leather trucker jacket be fitted or loose?
Close. The design relies on a short, squared body sitting near you — worn oversized it loses its proportions and reads like a borrowed jacket. The sleeve should end at the wrist bone and the hem at your waistband, not below it.
Is a leather trucker jacket warm?
Warmer than a denim one by a wide margin, because leather stops wind where woven cotton does not. It is still a shell rather than an insulated coat, so it handles autumn and mild winter over a knit and needs more underneath below freezing.
What do you wear with a leather trucker jacket?
Dark denim or chinos, a plain tee or a shirt, and boots. The classic mistake is blue jeans in a tone close to the jacket — in leather that is less of a risk than in denim, but a tan jacket over tan trousers has the same problem. Keep a clear difference between the two halves.

This jacket has a clean look, and the tan shade is a nice touch. It is the detail I would point out first. It has a more understated appearance than some similar designs.

The shape of this jacket is appealing, especially with the tan shade. It has the kind of look I generally prefer. The product title and details made the design easy to understand.

The tan shade gives this jacket its character. The product design feels considered rather than overly busy.

There is a nice balance to the styling of this jacket. The tan shade is a good finishing detail. I appreciate the focus on the smaller design details.
