Description
The classic asymmetric biker in black, with brass rather than silver hardware: a zip running off-centre, wide lapels each snapped down at the tip, epaulettes across the shoulders, two angled zip pockets and zip cuffs. Cropped at the waist and shaped through the body.
Brass against black
It is a warmer combination than the usual silver. Brass picks up the light more softly, reads slightly vintage, and sits well with gold jewellery and brown boots, where chrome hardware pulls the jacket towards a colder, more industrial look. The same jacket in two metals is genuinely two different pieces.
The leather
Full-grain hide, soft and black. On a biker jacket the lapels are the part that takes the most flex — folded back and pushed around every time the jacket is worn — and a grain surface creases there rather than cracking.
How it is cut
Close at the chest, short at the waist, sleeves to the wrist bone. Sized over a t-shirt or a fine knit. Leather gives about half a size across the chest over a season and never shrinks back, so do not buy it tight hoping it will loosen.
What to wear it with
Jeans and boots, or over a dress with the proportions working for you rather than against. Keep what is underneath plain — the jacket is doing the talking.
Looking after it
Condition twice a year, including along the lapel fold. Hang it with the lapels lying flat rather than crushed inward. Keep conditioner off the brass, which will dull where product sits on it.

Size chart
Measure your bust around the fullest part with the tape level. Jacket chest is the finished garment measurement and runs larger than your body, because the jacket has to close over you. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Questions about wearing a biker jacket
Should a biker jacket be cropped or longer?
Cropped, if you want the shape to read as a biker jacket. The whole silhouette depends on the hem landing at the waist, so the shoulders look wide and the waist narrow. A longer version is a perfectly good jacket but it stops being this one — it becomes a leather coat with a diagonal zip.
What do you wear under a biker jacket in autumn?
A fine knit, a long-sleeved tee or a shirt. The jacket is cut close, so a thick jumper either does not fit or ruins the line. If you need more warmth, a thin merino layer under a shirt does far more than one bulky layer, and the jacket still closes.
Can you wear a biker jacket with a dress?
Yes, and the contrast is most of the appeal. The thing to watch is proportion: a cropped jacket works over a dress that continues well below it, not one that ends just under the hem. Midi and maxi lengths work best; a very short dress plus a very short jacket leaves an awkward gap.
Does a biker jacket suit a petite frame?
It can, but check two things: the shoulder seam, which on a jacket cut for height will sit out on the arm, and the hem, which should land at your waist rather than your hip. Those two measurements are what decide whether a biker jacket looks sharp or looks borrowed, far more than the chest.
How do you stop the lapels curling?
Hang the jacket with the lapels folded as you wear them, not pressed inward by a crowded wardrobe. If they have already started curling, fold them flat and lay the jacket somewhere cool overnight with a light weight across the lapel — not heat, never an iron.
What wears out first on a biker jacket?
The zip, then the lining under the arms, then the lapel fold. The hide itself is usually the last thing to go by a long margin. All three are repairable by a leather tailor for a fraction of replacing the jacket, which is worth knowing before you give up on an old one.
