Description
A rust brown leather puffer quilted in squares rather than long channels. Stand collar, straight centre zip, zip hand pockets, a drawcord at the hem, and a warm cognac finish that lifts along every quilted edge.
Box quilting
Each square is sealed on all four sides, so the fill inside it cannot move anywhere. On a long horizontal channel the filling can still slide from end to end over the years; a box cannot. The cost is stitching — many more seams, each one a permanent line of perforations through the hide — which is why box quilting in leather is less common than in nylon.
The colour
Rust, somewhere between cognac and terracotta, with the raised edges of each square burnished lighter. It is the brightest jacket in the puffer range and the one that reads least like winter kit.
The leather
Full-grain hide. The grain matters more on a box-quilted jacket than on a plain one, because every square edge is a fold — and a coated hide creases white along a fold where grain leather simply darkens.
How it is cut
Cut with winter layers accounted for, hem at the belt. Take your usual size over a jumper; do not size up unless something heavy is going underneath. The quilting adds its own volume.
What to wear it with
Dark trousers and boots. Keep the rest plain and dark — a warm, bright shell over dark denim is the whole idea here, and a second strong colour anywhere else undoes it.
Looking after it
Condition lightly, working around the squares rather than into the stitch lines. Dry at room temperature, never near heat. Hang it with room either side so the loft is not crushed.

Measure your chest around the fullest part with the tape level. Jacket chest is the finished garment measurement and runs larger than your body, because the jacket has to close over you. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Questions about quilted jackets
What is box quilting?
Stitching that encloses the fill in sealed squares rather than long tubes. It holds insulation exactly where it was put, which is why technical sleeping bags and good down jackets use it. The trade-off is a great deal more stitching, and on leather every stitch is permanent.
Is a bright brown puffer too much for winter?
It is the opposite problem to most winter coats, which are all black and grey. A rust shell over dark trousers reads deliberate rather than loud, because everything below it is quiet. Where it goes wrong is pairing it with another strong colour.
How do you stop a puffer jacket looking like sportswear?
Material and logo. A nylon shell with a brand mark on the chest reads as technical kit whatever the cut; a leather shell with no branding reads as a coat. Beyond that, keep what is underneath grown-up — a knit rather than a hoodie makes most of the difference.
Can you wear a scarf with a puffer jacket?
Yes, but a thin one. A stand collar plus a thick wool scarf pushes your chin up and bunches the collar outward. A fine wool or silk scarf tucked inside the collar works; a chunky one is better worn over the jacket, outside the collar entirely.
Is thicker leather better for a puffer shell?
No — a thinner, supple hide is actually what you want. Insulation needs to loft, and a heavy hide resists that, flattening the quilting and adding weight without adding warmth. The thickness that suits a biker jacket would make a poor puffer.
What happens if a quilted panel gets punctured?
Very little, on a box-quilted jacket. The fill is sealed inside that one square, so a small hole loses a little and goes no further — which is another argument for boxes over channels. Get it patched by a leather repairer before the hole opens up with wear.

This jacket has a clean look, and the quilted detailing is a nice touch. It is the detail I would point out first. The product title and details made the design easy to understand.

The quilted detailing gives this jacket its character. The product design feels considered rather than overly busy. The listing explains the style clearly.
